Masonry Services
Our Fire Surrounds are all designed & hand carved by Simon, in our Peak District Workshop in Tideswell from local stones quarried or mined in the British Isles. The most popular stones that we use are
Derbyshire Sandstone, Lancashire Gritstone, Ancaster Limestone, Portland Limestone and Bathstone.
Each surround is a bespoke piece, designed & handmade in our workshop for the Client.
Simon can prepare old chimney breasts, alter openings and design new apertures to accommodate
a fire surround of your choice, designed & handmade here at the workshop.
Simon can install and commission stoves, and we are suppliers of Woodwarm Stoves made in Devon.
As part of the installation service he can fit Flues & Liners & can complete any chimney alterations &
repairs involved. He is HETAS registered.
We will travel anywhere in the UK for your installation.

​We also supply Masonry Stone for the building industry and clients homes.

About Us
Heritage Stoneworks Ltd in the heart of Derbyshire is owned & run by Simon Tarr
who has had a lifelong involvement in the
Stone and Building Industry.
Our Showroom & Workshop in Tideswell has been running since1998.
Simon offers a personal design service,
creating and installing bespoke hand carved fire surrounds all made by himself on site. Every fire surround is tailor made to exact specifications, that are thoroughly discussed with the Client so that they get a truly unique surround. He works with every Client through all stages of the design and installation so that they receive a truly personal and bespoke service.
Located in the Peak District, we offer a UK wide service and have completed work in every corner of the Country. The changing architecture of period properties and new developments around the UK always makes the design process interesting, and Simon can offer advice on what stone and surround will suit your home in its surroundings.
He also specialises in Architectural Masonry
for new builds and period restorations.
